Join your friends from the Danish Club in watching the 2016 film "Men & Chicken"!
"Men & Chicken" is a darkly hilarious slapstick comedy starring Mads Mikkelsen (ingeniously cast against type), about a pair of socially-challenged siblings who discover they are adopted half-brothers in their late father's videotaped will. Their journey in search of their true father takes them to the small, insular Danish island of Ork, where they stumble upon three additional half-brothers—each also sporting hereditary problems and lunatic tendencies—living in a dilapidated mansion overrun by barn animals. Initially unwelcomed by their newfound kin, the two visitors stubbornly wear them down until they’re reluctantly invited to stay. As the misfit bunch get to know each other, they unwittingly uncover a deep family secret that ultimately binds them together.
This inventively bizarre and outlandish comedy is directed by acclaimed, Oscar-winning director Anders Thomas Jensen and also stars David Dencik ("The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"), Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Nicolas Bro, and Søren Maling.
The movie starts at 7:30 p.m. The movie is free, but please RSVP if attending.
Parking instructions and directions to the Rice FE&P Training Center
- Take Entrance 20 off Rice Blvd (between Greenbriar and Sunset.).
- Take a right into the Visitior’s Parking lot, you will be asked to pay with a credit card.
- Once you have parked, walk back to Rice Blvd. Walk right (east) down Rice Blvd. until you get to Entrance 22, about ½ mile.
- Enter the parking lot, turn left and continue east - the Training Center is the first building on the left.
For those interested in having dinner before the movie, please meet at Hungry’s in Rice Village (2356 Rice Blvd., 77005) at 6:00 p.m. (you are responsible for paying for your own dinner). PLEASE NOTE IN THE "COMMENT" IF YOU PLAN TO JOIN US FOR DINNER, AND HOW MANY ARE IN YOUR PARTY!
