Spring Picnic at Eastern Glades in Memorial Park!

Clay Family Eastern Glades

March 5, 2023
11:30 AM

Join your friends and fellow DCH members for a picnic at the Clay Family Eastern Glades in Memorial Park on March 5th!

The Clay Family Eastern Glades is a little-known 100 acre park that was inspired by the original 1930s Master Plan for Memorial Park by landscape architects Hare & Hare and includes parking and restrooms, a 5 ½-acre Hines lake and wetlands area, and provides trails, boardwalks and opportunities to experience and learn about natural habitat systems. There is something for everyone – from runners to picnicking families to students of ecology and those interested in Houston’s and the nation’s cultural history!

So bring a picnic lunch (or visit one of the near-by food trucks) and enjoy this oasis in the middle of Houston! We will meet by the Live Oak Court and look for a suitable lawn space to accommodate our party.

Please remember to bring chairs and any other equipment to make your visit more enjoyable!

Eastern Glades paid parking, $1 for three-hour increments, uses City of Houston meters. Users can pay with a credit card, cash, or pay-by-app via ParkHouston.
